X Iberian Congress of Ichthyology. Fishes for Future

On behalf of the Iberian Society of Ichthyology (SIBIC), we would announe that the X Iberian Congress of Ichthyology, titled ‘Fishes for Future’, will be on June 18-21 of 2024, at the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (on June 18, the SIBIC 2024 & Life MigratoEbre joint session will take place in Tortosa).

SIBIC congresses are celebrated every two years, to address scientific and management challenges related to different aspects of Ichthyology. The forthcoming 10th edition of such Congress, among other novelties, will include topics such as conservation aquaculture and marine fish, and it will also be open to researchers from southern Europe.

In the context of global change, we are convinced that gathering a group of specialists and people interested in the study and conservation of this vertebrate taxon is essential, as well as encouraging debate and knowledge interchange is also essential to find solution to the current problems concerning fishes and their habitats.

Abstract submission closes: 31th January 2024.

We hope to see you in Tortosa and Vic in June 2024.

We look forward to welcoming you.
